My son James played his first season of Football this year, and it was awesome. He was a year behind the other kids of his grade, because he chose not to play last year, and most of the rest of them did. He is also super afraid of pain and isn't very aggressive. So we had to work with him a lot, and I think he came along ways throughout the year. He was on the kickoff team, and since the team did so well it wasn't a bad place to be. He also had a second string spot on defense and offense.
Although he didn't play a lot he learned a lot about team work, and how hard it is to practice everyday. He also learned about how a community comes together to celebrate seeing their team do good, and try so hard.
I was super proud of him, it is the first sport that he liked going to play and that he liked going to practice.
I enjoyed watching my nephew and my sons friends do so well.
I also love that my husband likes to help coach my kids teams, he spent two hours of his night at the practices and often had to leave work early to get to the games, but he did everything in his power to be there and to teach and help my son and the other kids.
It was really neat to see your son's team highlighted at the high school's Homecoming game. Thanks for sharing the mother's perspective about your little guy!
